Our First Post

This is our first post. We are going to tell you about Pangea, Plate tectonics (duh!), convergent and divergent boundaries, Ring of Fire, and the Mid-Ocean Ridge. We hope you will learn something new. Each subject will be on a different post. We're still new at posting pictures and all that, but don't worry; will have some soon! For now, every main subject has a picture, video, or something else to help you see it or explain something. Below the picture will be links so if you want to learn more, you can!

Isn't it awesome! I know it's soooooo cool!

Ring of Fire

Our next subject is the Ring of Fire. The Ring of Fire is located around South America, North America, Asia (around China and Japan) and skips Australia. It's kind of hard to explain, so take a look at the picture we have. There are many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. This makes this place very hazardous to live in. There are many volcanos that form this ring. These volcanos are mostly on islands, but are on land as well. These things cause many deaths. It's very sad...

This is the real ring of fire. A large chain of volcanos. I know, it doesn't really look like a ring.

Convergent and Divergent Boundaries

What are Boundaries? Boundaries are when Plates or pieces of the crust moving. There are different type of boundaries, but we are mostly going to talk to you about the Convergent and Divergent boundaries. The Convergent boundary is when two plates come together and then becomes a volcano. The Divergent boundary is when two plates move apart and create sea floor spreading. This also causes earthquakes. Some big, some small. There is also the Transform boundary, when two plates slip passed each other. We have a picture (we always do!) if you are still confused.

These are the different types of boundaries, the first one is the Divergent, then the Convergent, and the Transform Boundaries
